Paranormalcy

I read Paranormalcy by Kiersten White. It is about a girl named Evie who is special, but all she wants to be in normal. Her best friend is a Mermaid. Her ex-boyfriend is a Faerie and she is falling for a Shape-Shifter. Also she can see through Paranormal glamor... and she is the only one who can do it. Then, Paranormals start dieing and she thinks she has something to do with it.
I loved this book it was great! I usually don't like books that deal with Vampires, but this is nothing like Twilight. It has love battles and mystery. It kept me on my toes the whole time waiting for more!
Rating: 5 STARS!!!!!!
Language: Highly Mild (would not recommend for small children) ;)
Profanity: um.... does a little bit of kissing count?

Someone Like You

Someone Like You is by Sarah Dessen. Halley is at summer camp when she gets a call from her best friend saying that her friends boyfriend just died. Halley comes home to take care of her friend... for once. Halley has always been the shy one in need of help constantly, but now the tides are changing and Halley must learn to help Scarlett. Can she do it?
I liked this book a lot. I could not put it down! I have read a lot of Sarah's books and I think this one is one of her best! I highly recommend it!

Profanity: Mild has some scenes of sex

Spells

Spells is the sequal to Wings. Laurel has now accepted that she is a faerie, but she refuses to turn her back on her human life, especially her boyfriend David. But when she is summoned to Avalon, the faerie world, Laurel can no longer deny her feelings for Tamani. She is then forced to make a choice between Tamani and David. Who will she choose?
This book couldn't have gotten any better! It was full of real life choices. The ending is not predictable, and you can't seem to put the book down!
Rating: 5 STARS!
Language: mild
Profanity: none

Wings

I read the book Wings by Aprilynne Pike. It's about a girl named Laurel who discovers that she is a faerie, because she grows a giant flower on her back. It looks almost like wings! To avoid embarrassment she ties them down with a scarf and puts a loose shirt on so no one will notice. Then the unthinkable happens and she has to go through a rough and hard journey to save her self and the ones she loves. Read to find out what happens!
Laurel is a very brave character. I think Aprilynne really brought her out and she was well defined and easy to follow. as was the rest of the characters in this book.
Rating: 5 STARS!!
Language: Mild, occasional swearing.
Profanity: None.

DRAGON SLIPPERS

I read Dragon Slippers this is the summary: "Creel never imagined how dramatically her life would change after her first encounter with a dragon. She receives from him a pair of mysterious shoes and begins her life in a new town, where she travels after her aunt's plan to have her rescued by a prince is foiled. Creel, a talented seamstress, encounters other dragons, a plotting princess, and handsome prince. A romantic and exciting story of espionage and embroidery, this is a fairy tale like no other!" I loved this book!
Creel is an amazing character! She is so brave and bold. She reminds me of myself. Like when a cute guy comes (Prince Luka) then I can hardly speak either. I love how she can sew things so amazingly. She makes friends with the king of the dragons, a prince of the Humans and even falls in love. I love stories like this.
There is a sequel I will be sure to read, Dragon Spear.
